About Us

Founded in 1975, the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the academic and professional success of minority engineering and technical students and professionals. Our mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community. Today, NSBE is comprised of over 30,000 pre-college, collegiate, and alumni members divided into six regions, all of which are governed by a national executive board.

The Dallas Metroplex Alumni Extension Chapter serves to enhance the national and regional initiatives of the organization. DMAE focuses its efforts on exposing pre-college students to engineering, promoting academic excellence among pre-college students, mentoring local collegiate chapters of NSBE, and supporting professional development of its members.
