Programs

Pre-College Initiative and College Initiative

The Pre-College Initiative programs provide a formal vehicle through which NSBE members can encourage pre-college students (grades 6-12) to develop interests and skills in math and science. Our College Initiative programs help collegiate students to succeed in college as well as prepare them to enter the professional workforce. Through these programs, NSBE-DMAE exposes students to engineering, math, and science-related fields. It also encourages them to attend college and succeed academically.

Wine Tasting

Our Wine Tasting event is a signature event that all members have come to enjoy.  It allows members to network and engage in interactive activities with other local organizations.  This scholarship fundraising event provides the opportunity to assist deserving students with their college financial needs.

Annual NSBE-DMAE Scholarship and Awards Banquet

NSBE-DMAE premier event is our end of the year Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet.  The Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet provides scholarships, awards, dinner to our scholarship award winners.

Professional Development

A vital part of our organization is to provide a place for our new and current members to develop their professional skills in support of our mission to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

Professional Development programs are those programs that directly relate to the professional advancement of NSBE Alumni Extension members, including training opportunities, licenses, and certifications. We are continuously adding to our lineup of professional development programs to ensure that our membership is fully prepared to succeed in careers in industry, government, and academia.  Activities geared toward technical professionals will include our Professional Development Mini-Conference and numerous workshops.

Membership
